Wine is a social cement. But it’s not just about the juice.

It’s also about the people who drink it.

The Rhône Valley — the whole stretch of it — is very much to the fore in our wine list and preoccupations. But like the river the list is vast and meandering, stopping everywhere the grape is good. From darkest Languedoc to fine Champagne and Armagnac too — why not ? Then race to Gigondas with a dog-leg via Chianti to pick up artistic Italians. Breathe and away again ! To Mosel just to savour a bite of citrussy slate having drunk in the Loire of nectars not unlike Edwardian ladies hats, headily scented and weighed down with flowers.

Willi’s has, in it’s modest way, become something of an institution over the years. But we are not in the label game. The reason that to our surprise and delight people come and come again, is that we are always have something different to drink.

The point is : there is a lot to try. Our selection of wines by the glass changes frequently (it has to — the cellar’s full !) and it is always varied enough for conversation to be had. Sit at the bar, have a chat, taste things and travel. You can have a small glass, a bigger glass, a carafe or — hell ! — the bottle. And if you get hungry, there’s a lot we can do about that too. You know where we are.
